Homemade Tater Tots

Ingredients

Step 1 – Heat oil between low and medium heat. You don’t want the oil to be too hot for frying. Peel and dice the potatoes.

Step 2 – Fry the potatoes until the are lightly brown, but not completely done cooking.

Step 3 – Remove the potatoes from the oil and place them on a paper towel lined plate. Let them cool for a few minutes.

Step 4 – Place cooled potatoes in a food processor. Add sea salt, pepper and starch to potatoes. Pulse 3-4 times. The potatoes should look grated and the salt, pepper and starch should be mixed into the potatoes.

Step 5 – Now its time to mold your tater tots! You can make them round or in a traditional tater tot shape. Place the tots on a cookie sheet. At this time you may freeze your tater tots for future use if you would like.

Step 6 – Fry tater tots in oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. If your tots are cooking too fast, turn the heat down and try again. If they cook to fast the center will be gooey.

Place tater tots in a warm oven until ready to serve. Enjoy!
